Nicole Davidson joined Whelton Hiutin LLP as an Associate in 2025, after articling at a national law firm. She is passionate about litigation, with a particular interest in civil and commercial disputes.
Nicole graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2024. During law school, she was actively involved in the Tenant Division of the university’s legal clinic, where she represented clients in housing disputes before the Landlord and Tenant Board. Nicole also enjoyed competitive mooting, earning the Top Advocate award in her torts class moot and Best Defendant Factum in the Walker Health Law Moot. Nicole worked as a research assistant on projects at the intersection of law, health, and technology. Her work included contributions to a scoping review on AI in healthcare and a published case study on the ethical and legal implications of surgical surveillance technologies. She also assisted in legal research on tax and health law.
Before law school, Nicole worked for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia in several roles. In the complaints and practice investigations department, she drafted decision letters based on complex physician conduct investigations. In the registration department, she modernized and rewrote regulatory policies to align with legislative requirements and committee decisions. She completed a Master’s Certificate in Health Systems Management during this time and remains interested in the intersection of health, law, and policy. Her writing on healthcare and AI has been published by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
Outside of practice, Nicole enjoys long walks with her dogs, attending concerts, and playing hockey.
