Biography

Meaghan is an Associate at Whelton Hiutin LLP. She practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, and administrative law. Meaghan acts for clients in a broad range of disputes, including contractual, employment, real estate, and estate matters. For personal injury and medical malpractice cases, she acts for victims who have suffered significant injuries.

Meaghan has argued cases at the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Appeal and has represented clients at various tribunals.  She has experience conducting appeals and motions.

Meaghan graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in the spring of 2021. During law school, Meaghan was active in the Faculty’s mooting program, competing in the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot and the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot.

Prior to law school, Meaghan held policy development roles in the public, non-profit, and private sector. She worked in the areas of economic development, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, first nations energy solutions, disability rights, and poverty reduction. From 2014-18, Meaghan served the Ontario government as a policy and legislative advisor to Ministers in the Community and Social Services and Energy portfolios.
